Our storyहमारे बारे में

A small spice house with an unreasonable standard.

Umiya Enterprises is named for Umiya Mata, revered across Gujarat. The name carries a promise of care — the same care we ask of every batch we clean and grind.

Why we exist

A spice should taste of the ground it grew in.

Most spice on a supermarket shelf was ground months ago, in bulk, far from where it grew. By the time it reaches you, the aromatic oils that carry its character have quietly faded. What is left is colour and a memory of flavour.

We started Umiya Enterprises to close that gap. We buy single origins direct, clean every batch by hand, and stone-grind to order. It is slower and it is fussier — and it is the whole point.

Open one of our jars and the kitchen should change before you have cooked a thing.

What we hold toमूल्य

Four things we refuse to compromise.

Single origin, always

We name where a spice grew because it matters. Erode turmeric and Kashmiri chili are not interchangeable, and we do not pretend otherwise.

Freshly ground

Ground spices lose their aroma within months. We grind to order and seal at once, so the jar you open still smells alive.

Clean, honestly

Sorted and cleaned by hand — no fillers, no dyes, no bulking agents. Saffron is threads, not powder; chili is chili.

Fair at the source

We buy direct from growing families, season after season, and pay for quality rather than squeezing the lowest lot.

The path here

From the yard to your jar.

The yard

It started among the spice traders of Gujarat — learning to tell a good lot from a great one by smell alone.

The mill

We began stone-grinding small batches to order, because nothing on a shelf could match the aroma of fresh.

The jars

Word travelled from one kitchen to the next, and the list of homes trusting us to fill their jars kept growing.

Today

Still small, still hand-cleaned, still ground fresh — now reaching kitchens across the country.

Cook with spices that still remember the field.
